Players from outside the District, who do not have an opportunity to play with a local club may also try out for the teams.

MERRYMEETING SOCCER CLUB TRYOUT INFORMATION

FALL 2010

Merrymeeting Soccer Club provides travel soccer opportunities for SAD 75 residents and neighboring towns that do not have a Soccer Maine affiliated club. This non-profit club is run by volunteers who are interested in promoting youth soccer. The cost to play is $200 for the Fall 2010 season. The fee includes a one week camp to be held in Topsham August 2-6 with U-12, U-13 and U-14 players attending 9:00 - 12:00 and U-9, U-10 and U-11 players attending 1:00 - 4:00. The season begins in early September and ends by early November. Teams practice once or twice per week as scheduled by the coaches. Games are played on Sundays with home matches in Topsham and away games averaging within a half hour away from Topsham. Home and away uniforms are provided. Teams will play in a Columbus Day Weekend Tournament and a tournament at the end of the season. To learn more about travel soccer in Maine, go to www.soccermaine.com.

Coaches for the teams are usually parents with some background in soccer and/or coaching. Training for coaches is available through the club. If you are interested in coaching or assisting, please contact Bruce Jones at 353-2507 or niketuck@aol.com.

The following chart shows what age group your child is eligible to play for in Fall 2010:

Under 9 (U-9): Birthdates August 1, 2001 - July 31, 2002

Under 10 (U-10): Birthdates August 1, 2000 - July 31, 2001
